This quarter has been putting along fairly smoothly for me, it's had its stressful moments, to be sure, but I'm not the first human being to live on this planet to deal with stress. Work is full of accomplishments with more goals to be reached, to prevent me from getting bored. I'll soon be able to bring a publication I work on to the internet, something I'm extremely proud of having spear-headed, built a team to work on said publication and setting a foundation for it's future. I'm also spending a good portion of my time developing what will be the upcoming layout for said publication after the summer. I've also finally made the investment into getting myself a copy of the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines 10nth Edition, a very dense and informative book to acknowledge that I do surprisingly enough have some skill in graphic design, and it would be in my best interest to research how to more effectively work those skills to my professional advantage.
Even though the economy has been having its downturns, and I really hope my friends haven't been adversely impacted by them, especially the mortgage crunch my own financial situations have been staying strong. My savings has been growing steadily and my passive investments have grown to yeild a more substantial return than I really expected in the most ideal of situations. The recent rash of sales have been a epic boon for my thrifty personality since it allowed me to totally replace my wardrobe and add books to my library that I otherwise wouldn't have bothered to consider due to cost. I'm even happy to say that I'm finally scouting locations I might want to move to when I'm done with college.
And speak of the Devil, I'm amazingly enough still managing to pass my classes, finish up my major, put in my transfer applications, and plotting my next academic and career moves. Unfortunately, my time spent drawing has been dramatically reduced due to all my time invested in school, work, and even more work, but I know that when I'm done it'll be time and energy well spent. I'm practicing on my guitar again, and focusing on re-developing some music proficiency for myself, I just need to make sure that I increase my drawing time.
Before I close this entry though, I don't hear anything from a good chunk of the on-line acquaintances I've made over the past few years. Maybe only a handful of you guys are letting a guy know what you're up to. I know I'm strapped for time, and you're probably busy as bees yourselves, but I'd actually appreciate you guys dropping me a line, a note, or whatever the net savvy terminology is here on DA these days. Don't be a stranger.
